About DAME

Energy people who build AI infrastructure.

AI data centres now start with energy. You can only build where you can get power, and only as fast as the grid connects you.

Data centre companies are having to become energy companies. DAME was founded as one in 2019.

Our team brings together energy market and AI infrastructure experts, and for an AI data centre, the energy side is where the hardest problems sit.

Why energy

Power sets the speed to market.

Regulation

The rules are being written now.

New rules for large loads will shape how and where data centres connect. DAME sits on the technical committees working on them.

Connections

Connection sets the timeline.

A new large grid connection can take six to eight years. Knowing where the network has room, and what it takes to connect there, is what brings a site online sooner.

Energy cost

Power is the largest running cost.

Prices in the NEM change every five minutes. As a registered Market Customer, DAME buys directly from the market and manages its own price exposure.

New generation

Growth depends on new generation.

New load increasingly needs to be matched by new wind and solar. Working with generators from the start is how DAME's pipeline of sites has grown.

Flexible since 2021

Flexibility is becoming part of connecting.

New national rules are making flexibility part of connecting to the grid, and the draft NEM access standards and state requirements add to that. DAME has been building for this since 2021, with a flexible layer next to firm AI compute.

From one idea in 2019 to two running sites.

  1. 2019

DAME founded to turn existing grid capacity into compute.

  2. 2021

First compute running, liquid-cooled and flexible from the start.

  3. 2023

R&D centre live, testing immersion cooling and flexible operation. Technical partner on board.

  4. 2024

Hobart site secured. NEM registration started.

  5. 2025

First modular site delivered. Registered with AEMO as a Market Customer. First solar power purchase agreement.

  6. 2026

Two sites running, including the R&D centre.

The team behind DAME.

Most of our team spent their careers in energy, across networks, renewables and virtual power plants. They work beside engineers who have built and run GPU services and cloud platforms at global scale.
